Steel Bridge Songfest’s Emerging Talent Showcase
and All-Star Revue

Young performing songwriters from Door County and across the U.S. take the stage and the spotlight at Third Avenue Playhouse (TAP) Saturday evening, June 11th, for Steel Bridge Songfest’s 2nd annual Emerging Talent Showcase.

Tarl Knight of DePere will host the event, joined by Door County’s Idol 2nd place winner, Anya Kopischke and other young songwriters from as far away as Atlanta, Georgia.

Already a performing veteran at age 16, Tarl has surprised Steel Bridge audiences for the past two years with his mature compositions and confident performances.

Tarl and Anya both take part in this year’s “Construction Zone” songwriting intensive at the Holiday Music Motel, teaming up with more seasoned songwriters for a week of collaborative writing and recording preceding the weekend performances.

The TAP showcase will debut the week’s creative output and also feature works from Caleb Navarro, 15, of Sturgeon Bay and Liam Hall, 16, of Atlanta, GA.

The second half of the 3-hour set will feature an All-Star retrospective of Steel Bridge Songs Vols.1-6, plus a preview of Volume 7 showcasing this years Construction Zone compositions. The All-star line-up will feature Freedy Johnston, Kim Manning, Eric McFadden, Geri X, Victoria Vox, and a whole slew of other Steel Bridge veterans and newcomers.

The event is free for Steel Bridge 2011 pass holders, $12 at the door for students, and $7 for children under twelve (subject to available seating). Steel Bridge Songfest weekend passes cost $20, available at TAP and the Holiday Music Motel, online at www.ticketstaronline.com or by calling 800 895 0071.
